Formal planting was chosen for the front to heighten the sense of arrival. Clean lines and restrained planting also help to achieve a space that appears to be very neat and tidy.

An informal planting scheme was chosen for the rear which aids in creating a relaxed environment. As the large Grass Trees were existing we felt it would be sacrilegious to remove them. We repeated the Liriope ‘Evergreen Giant’ as used in the front to replicate native grasses amongst the Grass Trees. Using the same plants front and rear helps connect both spaces, thus providing continuity with both front and rear – important in achieving a overall balanced garden.
